HB dead board game

ok... at this moment i am compiling the
links to the HB dead boards. let's have a
bit of fun with this....

see who can come the closest in number to
the actual number of HB dead boards at the
present.
remember, we are trying to guess how many
boards are no longer receiving posts as of
february 17th.... and you can post 2 guesses:

one guess for the number of dead boards,
and one guess for the number of boards
that have NO POSTS OR TOPICS listed.
(we've all seen these)

while i deeply appreciate hanny's good insights,
ivana came the closest... though still way under. [img]frown.gif[/img]

i am now going to post the board count... but
remember, this count is based on boards that
have remained inactive since february 17th...
tomorrow... if i were to do a dead board count,
i'd count all the boards that have been inactive
since february 18th.... which contains approximately
(at least) 100+ more boards than is on this count.

HB dead board count: 412
HB blank board count: 726

i will make a new topic and post all the links
(for what purpose? hell, i dunno any more).

what upsets me most ---
1quickSI just purged the system of inactive
boards just a few weeks ago.... and now we have
over 1000 boards just sitting there taking
space... in as little as a month or two time.

i can tell, based on this research, that keeping
HB free of dead boards would be a full-time job.
while i do not put down 1quickSI for avoiding
it, it prolly would serve better to keep it cleaned
every so often...
there were a few categories with only ONE active
board... the rest of the category was full of
dead or blank boards.... which could (is) a good
subliminal sign to everyone that nothing matters.

i dunno... i just hate seeing the count so high.

(tard, do you have any idea what the blank boards
are??? my guess is that they are boards recently
opened and people just forget about them or leave them)

Though I've made a couple boards that tuned-out being dead-ends, at least posted in them ocassionally (ie; "The Unofficial Art Bell Radio Messageboard", "Adult Video Production", and junk like that). I guess the boards without a single post EVER, usually fall within one of two categories: 1) just got a board to see IP numbers. As if that's such an entertaining perk. 2) randomly floating around the Net, saw "FREE messageboard hosting", so signed-up. Of course, without any intention of remembering their boards URL, or returning for a second look. Spammers might find a way to use it for commercial purposes.
